A Cup of Tea or a Day of Affirmation

In our introduction to Orchard: Africa, Mike & Michelle shared a story of truly getting to know one another over a cup of tea. We have done this as a group and with our wonderful friends in Dihatshwane.

Principal Octavia has been the advocate for the children of Dihatshwane for 23 years! Even though she was on school break she came in with a song of welcome and a cup of tea. Her love for the children shines from her eyes and heart.

Precious, Papa Joe and  Principle Octavia were happy to be a part of our group.   We shared a special connection when we learned a little of their life stories.  Each of them grew up with the same  struggles and difficulties as the children of Dihatshwane.

Peter is the new assistant Principle.  He will also be teaching 6th grade.

Papa Joe and Mmamoruti (Pastor's Wife)  are our best examples of laughter and love.

Octavia was so excited when Judy gave her the shirt we bought for her she lifted Judy off of her feet. I am sure this joy was also for the school supplies, the health kits the promise of hope she will be able to share with the children she loves so very much.

Each of the teachers and every child in VBS were given a bag of supplies.  The bags were made with love by Sue Borrowdale and her granddaughters - Hailey and Mikayla.
Another way to "share a cup of tea."

This classrooms was the preschool in 2012 when Victory last sent a team.  Today it is grade 1.  The preschool is now in a beautiful building with bathrooms.   Because Pastor Mpho went to the government offices to speak for the village, they have received more assistance.

Net Ball anyone?

Great acting is another way to share "a cup of tea", life and a little fun.  Our David had to toss her rock at Goliath twice.  Saul's guards were sure to keep him safe.  They did run when Goliath growled.

You have never lived until you have Pop  Rocked together....
